Melons in California are an entry into another realm. One I grew up perceiving I knew all there was to know. The varieties available to us from the Santa Monica and Hollywood farmers markets are extensive enough to bring home a new variety every single week during season. Before moving from New York, I truly didn’t realize I’d be so taken back by these sweet jewels of nature.
